... An' Thou art dulcet,
having delivered me from sin
in which no direction was right
And now, led from within the darkness,
I have been given second sight!
'Twas thou from which my core learned to cower,
Yet thou who quell my cowerings!
How dear that thou didst appear
That time my trust was first flowering.
Through many threats, trials and traps
I hath already roamed;
But 'tis thou who hath protected me 'til now,
And thou who will show me the way home.
God avowed naught but good for me,
An' His Promise my hope makes firm.
My aegis and aliquot He will be,
Until the time I feed the worms.
Verily, when my meat and heart give out,
And my Earth-bound existence will end,
I will be given, frlom beneath my shroud,
A life of bliss and calm will impend.
Soon, this world will melt like snow,
The sun no longer able to shine,
But the Lord, speaking to me from above,
I shall keep with me, forever mine.
And having a century of centuries passed,
As dazzling as the sun,
We will have as long to rejoice in God's great deeds
as when we'd first begun, at last!
